Ty Hir

Carmarthenshire

View on Google Maps

Pontyates is a small Carmarthenshire village in the Gwendraeth Valley, close enough to Kidwelly to reach its castle, or the Botanical Gardens of Wales and Pembrey Country Park within 15 minutes. Ty Hir sits at the end of a private lane in a courtyard setting, a former cowshed transformed into a single-storey cottage with exposed stone and wooden beams throughout.

The property sleeps six across three bedrooms: a kingsize with ensuite wet room and French doors to the garden, a double, and two singles. There are two bathrooms total. Ground-floor living is straightforward—the kitchen has a gas hob, electric range, dishwasher and full fridge, while the sitting room centres on a woodburner with French doors opening onto a raised garden area with seating. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are included; initial logs for the fire come with the booking.

A pub and restaurant stands just two minutes' walk away down the lane, serving locally brewed ales. Private parking fits three cars. No smoking in the property.
