About Rosa Campsite

Pack your beach gear if you're heading to Rosa Campsite – this adults-only site is a mere few minutes' amble from a long, sandy stretch. Vicky and Shaun have carved out a quiet spot in open farmland, with pitches spread across a pleasingly flat grass field where there's ample room for barbecues and a proper sense of space. The free showers are kept mightily clean for convenient riddance of accumulated sand, and a washing-up area plus recycling facility help keep the place spick and span.

It's all only a 20-minute walk from the pubs, cafés and small supermarket in Chapel St Leonards, while dog-friendly Chapel Point beach is closer still. If your walking boots want a bit of action, the trails through the Lincolnshire Wolds – with their woodland paths and abundant wildlife in abandoned chalk pits – are 25 minutes' drive away.

Been here a few times and will definitely return, nice and quiet site, Shaun is really helpful and accommodating if you need any advice around the area. It is a 5-10 minutes walk to the nearest beach, 20 minutes walk into the centre of Chapel St Leonards which is a nice calm quiet place, there are regular buses to neighbouring places such as Skegness, Mablethorpe, etc, if you fancy a day out a bit further away without needing to take the car.

I have stayed on this site a few times and it was very nice and quiet, the owner Shaun is a very nice person, who always comes and says hello to me when I stay there, the facilities are very clean and tidy and the site is well kept, I will definitely be returning there when possible, plus you are not far away from the local shops and pubs, overall a great place to stay

Lovely campsite. Short walk to the beach. Very dog friendly. Nice owner. Shower was hot and toilet facilities very clean. Unfortunately we had to leave early because of family problems at home, but we would definitely stay here again

I wanted to review this site, my Husband already reviewed it but the owners comments are not very nice that he has added so I wanted to state the facts. We found the site on pitch up and also the site's Facebook page which clearly welcomed motorhomes up to 3.5t while the weather was so nice, our motorhome is 3.4t. We didn't book on pitch up as we thought the site might prefer cash to save the commission fees. We are business owners ourselves so understand these charges. It is also perfectly acceptable to drive to a site without booking first to check out the area. On arrival we phoned the number provided and a man came to meet us, we wanted a non electric pitch for 2 nights, the cost on pitch up for 2 nights was £46, the man wanted to charge us more, we paid him cash of £46 as per the advertised price we did not barter the price as he stated but mearly paid the price that was advertised. We did not use the facilities other than I used the toilet twice and we filled up our drinks bottles once, and used the bins, I am a little concerned that the man we now know to be the owner seemed to know exactly when I had used the facilities which as a woman I felt uncomfortable with. We used our own shower, toilet, washing up facilities etc and had brought water in our on board tank from home. When I used the toilet and washed my hands the hot water boiler would not stop and was wasting water so I switched it off at the wall so it stopped it, we are considerate people and do not waste anything. When we were leaving we moved our motorhome to the tap and elsan point so we could empty our toilet and top up our water, the tap was in a hard to reach place so we had to draw up to it so our hosepipe would reach, part of our nearside front wheel was on the flag to do this, we were not 'parked on his flags' as stated in his comments. The owner came over to us shouting at us to get off his flags he then criticised us for topping up our water as we were leaving so why were we topping it up?,  I pointed out that we had not filled our water up when we arrived and we were topping up what we had used (bearing in mind we had paid for our stay we were not stealing water!) We were not blocking the facilities for anyone else as there was only one other campervan there at this point who were packing up anyway. The owner said to us "It's not my fault if your hosepipe is not long enough" We have been camping in this motorhome for 9 years and never had a problem before with our hosepipe 'not being long enough' The owner also commented in his response to my Husbands review that other people commented on our behaviour, there was only one campervan there at this point and the owner was friendly with them so if you are going to criticise your customers when they leave you really shouldn't put it in a response to a review. We were paying customers not thieves like you made us out to be. Up until this point we had a very enjoyable stay, the site was nicely kept, peaceful and we would have come back again, we were there to celebrate our 31st Wedding Anniversary and I was horrified to be talked too so rudely by the owner. I suggest the owner takes a course in customer service, we are in our 50's and 60's and are professional people, I do not expect to be talked too like that especially in front of another camper.
