Shepherds Barn

Families and larger groups will find Shepherds Barn works well as a private base. The conversion has four bedrooms—two with zip-and-link beds that split into singles, one king, one double—each with its own bathroom. Ground-floor access means no stairs to navigate with small children or luggage. One bedroom opens onto the patio through French doors. You get the whole place to yourselves, along with one well-behaved pet at no extra cost.

The kitchen is equipped for proper cooking: oven, range, microwave, dishwasher and coffee machine are all there. A wood-burning stove heats the living room, with underfloor heating throughout. Wifi, electricity, bed linen and towels come as standard; the first load of wood for the burner is included too. A cot and highchair are available if needed. For downtime, there's a games table offering pool and table tennis, and the private hot tub fits six people. Parking for six cars is on site. The no-smoking policy applies throughout.

Situated on Cheshire's edge near the Peak District, it suits groups wanting somewhere self-contained for a week or weekend. Not suitable for stag or hen parties.
