About The Portland Hotel Wetherspoon
Walk into a room at The Portland Hotel Wetherspoon and you get a straightforward, en-suite set-up with air conditioning, a lift to reach your floor, and free WiFi to get online straight away. There's even the option of drinks in the room, so you can settle in without heading straight back downstairs.
Downstairs, the hotel runs on familiar Wetherspoon lines, with its own restaurant and bar serving food and drink at reliably low-key prices, plus a garden for anyone who wants to sit outside. It's a practical base rather than a destination in itself, but it does the basics well.
The location on West Bars puts guests right in Chesterfield town centre, within reach of other pubs, bars and restaurants, plus entertainment options nearby. Golf courses in the area suit anyone travelling for a round or two, making this a sensible, no-fuss stop for exploring the town.
