The Noel Arms Hotel

I stayed three nights with my mom (2 at the beginning of our trip, and then again as we closed out our hiking loop), and we enjoyed our stay. The rooms are on the smaller side, but they are clean and comfortable. I will warn anyone with larger bags, that of course, because it’s an older hotel, there isn’t a lift, and there are quite a few hallways to maneuver through. It wasn’t an issue for us since there was someone to help my mom with her bag, and we don’t have any mobility issues, but could be for others. The front desk and breakfast staff were so friendly and helpful. And it was really nice to have a little cafe right inside as well. The chai lattes were a favorite of ours. We didn’t end up eating dinner at the restaurant, but I’m sure we would if we stayed again. Overall, I’d say it’s about a 3.5 star hotel in terms of amenities and updates, but 4.5 for service and 5 for cleanliness.

Me and my wife stayed here last night whilst visiting the Cotswolds, we were greeted by friendly staff on the evening of arrival but the tone of service deteriorated throughout our stay. We arrived to our room which was pleasant but due to the summer heat was unbearable to sleep in, we had two fans on which blew hot air, this also made my heavily pregnant wife very poorly, I do realize that summer heat is beyond the hotels control but to safety surely they should invest in better fans or air Coolers. Credit where credit due the evening meal was lovely (but very long wait) and when we arrived we had to fill out a 'breakfast slip' which was a waste of time, we had ordered two full English breakfast but not once but twice they came out with salmon and scramble eggs (40 minutes after being seated) and when the right food came out, the woeful breakfast included a raw sausage. Will not be staying here again was very sad and disappointed from a 4 star hotel. And if you do stay and are in a rush make sure you have breakfast early as you'll be waiting a long time to be served, This doesn't reflect on all of the staff as a few were very helpful. Positive- the location was lovely

Not complaints regarding staff nor location as in a lovely place. However, no way would I return to this establishment. Uncomfortable mattress, pillow and bedding. Broken bedside table. Flashing light all night in the room. Breakfast was mediocre. Room very warm and only a small window to open despite it being Feb. Reported no cold water so the water was boiling. This was not long before the wedding so I explained the importance of it being fixed quickly as my friend and I were due to go to wedding. Reported to the receptionist, they took their sweet time to come, my friend and I had to have a very quick wash due to longevity of someone coming to fix it. Ultimately, I personally left the evening of the wedding as I couldn't bare to sleep there one more night.

Great locations and a nice first impression, with the public areas nicely renovated. Unfortunately the rest of the hotel, particularly the guest rooms, missed the same attention. Our room was very noisy and extremely hotel. The worst part of our experience sadly was breakfast, which was far below the standard experienced during our week in the Cotswold. The attitude of the breakfast hostess was rude and inhospitable, leaving a bad last impression.
