Baytree Cottages - Baytree Cottage 1

Colchester

View on Google Maps

Baytree Cottage 1 is a semi-detached holiday home in the village of Birch, built with contemporary interiors and a wood burner to take the chill off. Downstairs holds an open-plan living and dining space with a kitchen where you can cook proper meals, plus a sofa bed that doubles your sleeping capacity. Upstairs is a bedroom with a zip-and-link super king bed (or two singles if preferred) and a shower room. The whole property is yours alone, with parking for one car on site and additional space on the road outside.

The cottage suits visitors exploring the Essex and Suffolk countryside, or using it as a base for Colchester—about 3 miles away—where you'll find the castle, Roman sites, museums and rail links to London. Mersea Island lies 8 miles off for sailing, beaches and fresh seafood. The Hare and Hounds pub is within walking distance. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are provided. One well-behaved pet can stay at no extra charge. No smoking inside, and the property does not support electric vehicle charging.

A great one-bedroomed cottage for a short stay. Clean, warm, well equipped, and quiet. I agree with everything put by the previous reviewer.

Cannot recommend highly enough. Hosts were lovely, cottage is quiet and private, had all the facilities you need. Instructions were great for access and parking was really easy to find. The hosts had thought if everything and provided all the information needed for a stress free stay. The accomodation was clean, bright and plenty of space compared with a hotel plus the benefit of a fridge, cooker, microwave and toaster. Really enjoyed it
