The Wendover occupies the floors above a working pub in Abergele, near the North Wales coast. Walk through the entrance and you arrive into a large open-plan space that combines kitchen, dining and living areas on the first floor – the social hub where a group of 16 can gather, cook together and eat. A second living room with dartboard and games sits alongside. Five bathrooms and six bedrooms spread across the two upper floors mean nobody is queuing; bedrooms range from a super kingsize with its own bath and double shower, to doubles and singles, each with a TV and either an ensuite or access to the shower room on the first floor.
The kitchen is set up for cooking at scale, with gas oven, induction hob, dishwasher, American fridge and wine cooler. Out the back is a private hot tub for seven people. Parking is available for four cars, and there's a front garden with seating. Linen, towels and wifi are included; gas central heating covers winter stays. The pub downstairs serves food and drinks daily – useful for groups who don't want to cook every meal – though quality varies. One dog is welcome to stay free. No smoking throughout.
This works best for large family gatherings, milestone celebrations or groups of friends wanting space to spread out while staying connected. The coastal setting puts beaches within reach for walks or time by the sea.

We didn't even end up ordering food because we walked in and the place was really shabby and the toilets were a disgrace. They stunk of urine and had carpeted floor, which is downright unhygienic. Very limited parking, didn't even get acknowledged when we walked in. Would not recommend at all.

This was a great place food was good value for money and really nice. They have a bouncy castle for the children to play on. The drinks were reasonably priced.

Very decent bar, everyone seems friendly and like dogs. They do a doggy dinner, I question this as said it's cooked on a grill. Is it cooked separately from normal food? Drink prices are fairly priced and got a good sized beer garden.

Absolutely terrible food, gammon was just a hard slighter thicker piece of bacon & the kids chicken dippers had been warmed up that many times that they couldn't eat them. We ended up going to the chippy next door after it. OK for drinks but give the food a miss

Diners like this pub's generous portions of delicious food, including flavorful lasagne and Sunday roast beef, with options for children and dogs. They also highlight the friendly, hard-working staff and reasonable prices for both food and drinks.
