About Cotna Eco Retreat
Tucked into the peaceful Roseland Peninsula, Cotna Eco Retreat offers a genuinely low-impact stay just ten minutes from the coast. The site specialises in eco-friendly glamping, welcoming families and dogs year-round to a tranquil pocket of Cornwall that feels refreshingly off-grid—there's no WiFi, which for many is part of the appeal. Showers, toilets and drinking water keep things comfortable without compromising the retreat's green credentials.
The location is ideal for exploring both the peninsula's quieter coves and the broader Cornish coast, with Gorran Churchtown nearby. Guests consistently praise the hosts' warmth and the site's calm, natural setting, though it's worth noting that the eco approach means some might find facilities more basic than conventional campsites. A solid choice if you want to tread lightly and properly unplug.

What visitors say
We stayed at Cotna at the end of May 2025. All of us (4 adults and 4 children) had an amazing time! This is such a special place with so much to learn from. We especially loved the delicious food hampers we got with fresh eggs, vegetables and home-made sourdough bread. The kids loved being able to run around and explore, play in the creek and feed the chickens. The yurts were comfortable and kept us dry and warm. We didn’t have a car but we were able to do multiple walks to the nearby beaches and towns, and used public transportation when necessary. The owners were wonderful and even drove my husband to the hospital when he cut himself washing dishes.. Despite that setback, we had an amazing stay and wish we could have stayed longer! Thank you!

Wonderful, peaceful paradise, absolute silence and breathtaking location. Perfect weather, and took advantage of the walks to Portmellon, Gorran Haven, Hemmick Beach, with an excellent pub and local shop just up the lane, and a firepit at night before bed. Plus we were upgraded to a fabulous yurt! Could not have asked for more - we'll definitely be back. Carol & Rich

I came to Cotna for a personal retreat and really enjoyed my time there. I stayed in the secluded roundhouse and it was absolutely beautiful. Sara and Dave are very nice and welcoming, and the food is amazing, too. There is fresh bread every morning, homemade jam and eggs from their own chickens, plus fresh organic vegetables and other things. There are great hikes all around Cotna, many of which lead to the sea and excellent beaches, so even if you come without a car you can enjoy the area. But even just being on the land is so nice and relaxing. Thank you!

We spent a week with our two kids (6y) at Cotna Ecoretreat and had a wonderful time in one of the beautiful yurts. Sara and Dave have truly created a special place. They are always available to answer questions, and the food in the hampers is amazing. We also did the bread-baking class with Sara along with our children. It was great to see how much fun the kids had and how attentive Sara was to their needs. Dave's pesto was also delicious. Thank you also for the analog descriptions of the hiking trails – hiking without a smartphone is fantastic. We would definitely come back!
