Blue Seas

Photo: Blue Seas Hotel

Blue Seas sits on the cliffside between Penzance and Mousehole, built to take full advantage of its position with expansive glazing facing out to sea. The layout runs across two levels, with the upper floor devoted to a generous open-plan living and kitchen area that looks directly onto Mounts Bay, while the bedrooms occupy the ground floor and first-floor bedrooms below. There are four king beds in total, three with ensuite bathrooms, plus a separate family bathroom. Two ensuite showers serve the bedrooms that lack private facilities.

The kitchen is equipped for cooking proper meals—induction hob, electric oven, dishwasher, and two fridges. The living space has a freeview smart TV and connects to two terraces: one at the front catches the sea views; one at the back has space for dining. Parking is available for two cars. The essentials—heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi—are covered. No smoking is permitted.

Mousehole itself is a working fishing village with galleries, restaurants and shops within easy reach. The property suits groups or extended families wanting their own space; check in is after 16:00, check out before 10:00.

This was our first visit to the hotel, and what an amazing place it was. From the moment you walk through the gate into a beautifully maintained garden, it was a lovely welcoming sight. We were then greeted with such warmth by Fiona and Arnaud, you knew straight away you'd made a great choice of stay. Both were friendly, helpful, and full of useful local knowledge (and maps!). The rooms were tastefully decorated to a very high standard and had everything you needed. They were absolutely spotless. They take breakfast seriously at The Blue Seas Hotel and we were spoilt for choice. The quality of ingredients used here was amazing - an absolute treat to start your day. Fiona and Arnaud are what make this place. A lovely couple who are natural hosts, we can't wait to return. Thank you Sandra and Richard (Nottingham)

My parents in law had, quite simply, a perfect time. Beautiful place and setting, clean and wonderfully welcoming…. and the legendary breakfasts created by Arnaud? Yup, they’re legendary all right!! Truly stunning, in fact.

Arnaud & Fiona were extremely hospitable. And the view from the Lazard sea-view apartment is totally fabulous!!! felt truly worthwhile. For breakfast, I originally thought it was just an ordinary dry white bread, but it turned out to be freshly prepared every day. The fish and rice, English breakfast, and mushrooms were all incredibly delicious, even beating out 70% of the local restaurants in Penzance. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place as long as you want to stay here for 3 nights and more.

Four wonderful nights at Blue Seas ... we loved it so much we could've stayed longer! Arnaud and Fiona's lovely seaside home is ideally situated--walking distance to everything in Penzance and Newlyn and THE perfect base from which to explore West Cornwall. Our hosts went above and beyond in so many ways: A warm greeting the minute we parked our car in their lot; a terrific orientation to Penzance and West Cornwall; endless cookie and fudge treats; the best breakfasts we've ever had in the UK; and so much fun, lively conversation. Of course, our top floor room was beautifully decorated, spotless, comfortable, and came with spectacular views of the promenade and ocean. Our very contemporary bathroom looked brand new. We loved all the artwork around the house. Traveling around the world most of each year, we've stayed in a lot of absolutely amazing places, but Blue Seas is really extraordinary--extraordinary because of its hosts. Fiona and Arnaud are just really wonderful, kind, fun, and generous people who treated us and their other guests like old friends. Indeed, every one of the many guests we met during our four-night stay had stayed at Blues Seas before--some many times before. That says it all!
