About Ponsandane Campsite

Ponsandane sits on five acres of level parkland on the edge of Penzance, screened from the road by mature trees and within easy walking distance of the town's beaches, harbour and transport links. It's a straightforward, traditional campsite rather than a holiday park, and that simplicity—combined with the genuinely central location—is exactly why it has built a loyal following among visitors who want to explore West Cornwall without needing a car for every outing.

The site welcomes tents, camper vans and touring caravans, with two toilet and shower blocks, one recently renovated to include individual wet rooms. There's a dedicated dish-washing room with sinks and fridge-freezers, plus laundry facilities for longer stays. An on-site takeaway café serves breakfasts and light lunches, and campfires are permitted, which keeps evenings sociable once the day's exploring is done. Electric hookups and WiFi are available, and dogs are welcome.

Operating seasonally through the summer, Ponsandane is popular with families and coast-path walkers alike, thanks to its flat, easy pitches and friendly on-site staff. We stayed here with our caravan 24th june to the 1st july 2026 for the festival this is an excellent very well run clean and tidy campsite with very good WiFi. We have recently spent 4 nights at Ponsandane Campsite. I must admit I wasn’t expecting a lot but it was an ideal base for our trips in the area. On arrival Rob booked us in and quickly showed us to our pitch. The grass pitch wasn’t cut to an inch of its life and therefore we didn’t have grass cutting all over the place as it was a wet 4 days. We had an electric and water tap on our pitch. The toilets and showers were very clean, despite the weather and wet feet in and out. The site is near a busy road and yes, you can here the cars but we didn't notice them after a while. It was a 15 minute walk into Penzance and Tesco’s next door so we were able stock up for our onward journey. So never pre-judge a place till you have stayed there. If you want a site with pristine pitches and zero road noise then it probably isn’t for you but it really is a lovely site and despite the weather we had a great time.

We absolutely loved are stay here. The owners are very friendly and fantastic the toilets and shower was in very great condition and the wash room was super clean has everything you need fridge/freezer washer dryer 2 mins walk to Tesco will definitely be booking again. Wish I could give more than 5 stars 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Robert owns the lot. You see this in how things are cared for. He must like huge showers, proper warm water (pressure and temp). Now, i had not thought to zoom in and look for a “city campsite”. Fortunately someone pointed it out. Perfect for a last evening, easy start of the travelday back home, I had not looked at the site, only was able to call (Robert was patient with my circumstances) upfront, so when i got there, i thought “ that’s a lot of traffic !” And then a park, a quite beautiful park opened up. Sure, i could hear some city noise in the background (only at times), but it's actually like an oasis. I shit you not. Oh, and many thanks to Paul and the whole crew !!
