Bryher

Photo: John

Bryher is a second-floor apartment across the Camel Estuary from Padstow, with on-site parking and room for four guests plus one pet. The open-plan living space includes a sofa bed, dining area and kitchen equipped for proper cooking—oven, induction hob, dishwasher, fridge and coffee machine all there. The main bedroom has a double bed; a shower room and washer-dryer complete the layout. Bed linen, towels, electricity and Wi-Fi are provided, along with a travel cot if needed.

The North Cornish coast here has something for most people. Rock beach, a mile and a half away, reveals rock pools at low tide and runs a ferry service to Padstow. Polzeath draws surfers and has instruction available; Daymer Bay stays calm even when the tide is high, spreading a mile of sand when it retreats. The Southwest Coast Path runs locally for walkers. You can hire boats, book windsurfing, or simply explore the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on foot. The village has a shop stocking local cheeses and wines, a bakery for fresh bread, a butcher and fishmonger selling from the daily catch—enough to cook well at the apartment rather than eat out.

What is there not to love! Walk to hell bay, then onto fraggle rock. The west side is rugged and wild the east side is calm with sandy beaches. Lots of charm and beauty, unspoilt.
