Contention Barn

Contention Barn is a single-storey conversion in the hamlet of Penhallow, designed on an open-plan ground floor. Step in and you're straight into a living space with a kitchen area at one end and seating by French doors that open onto an enclosed garden. The bedroom is a double (4ft 6in), and there's a shower room with a cubicle and toilet. Everything you need for a couple—or a couple with a dog—is in one compact footprint.

The kitchen has an electric oven, hob and microwave; you can cook properly or keep things simple. Bed linen and towels come with the stay, heating is air-source, and there's a welcome pack on arrival. An enclosed garden has furniture and plenty of space for a dog to move around (they can stay free, though they need to be kept on a lead in public areas due to sheep grazing nearby). You get a private gated parking space for one car, and smoking is not permitted. The property is adults only.

Penhallow sits within reach of the coast—Perranporth beach is 2 miles away and known for waves and independent shops. Newquay and Truro are both within reasonable driving distance for a day out. Closer to hand, there's a pub a 5-minute drive away if you'd rather not cook one evening.
