Portland Cottage is a traditional semi-detached property built into the fabric of Mousehole, one of Cornwall's most characterful fishing villages. The cottage occupies a central position within yards of the working harbour and a small sandy beach, with the village's pubs, galleries and cafés equally close by on foot.
The layout spreads across two floors. Downstairs holds a living and dining room with television, a separate sitting room, a kitchen equipped for proper cooking, and a utility room with washing and drying facilities. Upstairs are three double bedrooms and a shower room, alongside a bathroom on the ground floor. The property sleeps six and comes with linen, towels, heating and wifi included. One well-behaved pet stays free. A small enclosed garden with patio and bike storage complete the picture, along with private parking for one car—a genuine advantage in a village where spaces are scarce.
Mousehole transforms with the seasons: summer brings the usual holiday crowds and coastal walking, while winter draws visitors to watch the stormy Atlantic and the village's famous Christmas lights, which arrive the week before the festival. Newlyn's working harbour and art galleries lie nearby, and Penzance's railway station opens up the wider Cornish coast. No smoking inside the cottage.
