Seascape

Seascape is set up for guests who want to cook proper meals and settle in for a while. The kitchen has everything needed—electric oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and freezer—while the utility room contains a washing machine and tumble dryer. Essentials like electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included. The cottage sleeps six across three bedrooms: a double, a kingsize and two singles. There are two bathrooms, one with a walk-in shower on the ground floor and one with a bath and shower upstairs. A travel cot, highchair and stairgate are available for families with young children.

The reverse-level layout puts the living and dining areas upstairs, where you can watch over Mounts Bay. Downstairs, the games room has table football and a dartboard. Books and games are provided. The back garden spreads over three levels with furniture, and parking for two cars is on site. Alexandra Play Park is nearby. Penzance seafront and local shops are within walking distance. One well-behaved pet is welcome. The property does not permit smoking.

⭐☆☆☆☆ Unfortunately, our experience at Seascape in Penzance was very disappointing. Shortly after arriving, we discovered several significant issues. The main bed was defective and, in our opinion, not reasonably suitable for sleeping. We also experienced problems with the bathroom drainage, and the overall cleanliness did not meet our expectations. We reported these issues immediately. The host responded approximately 1.5 hours later but was unable to provide an immediate solution. Instead, we were asked to use the narrow sofa bed and wait until the following day for an inspection. As this was not an acceptable solution, we decided to leave the accommodation the same evening and did not stay overnight. What disappointed us even more than the defects themselves was the way our complaint was handled. We submitted a formal written complaint directly to Prosper Serviced Accommodation, followed by a reminder after receiving no response. Neither email was ever acknowledged or answered. Problems can happen in any accommodation. However, what matters is how they are handled. In our case, we experienced neither a timely solution nor any meaningful communication afterwards. Based on our experience, we unfortunately cannot recommend either this accommodation or the management company.

Our room was next to the stairs there was constant noise and movement that could be heard from the room till late night. Especially if there are people in the dining room you’d hear and feel them. The kitchen wasn’t too bad though, there were enough clean cutleries and bowls. They could do with a few more dishes though as when I went to have dinner there was only one dish left and I saw about 5 dishes in the dishwasher. It seems this place consists of 10 rooms so I’d expect more dishes. I booked a sea view room and paid extra for it but the room they allocated didn’t really have a sea view. I reached out to them and didn’t hear back. The room itself was not too bad with minimalist setup. There’s a big smart tv with internet connection, that works really well with the size of the room, albeit a bit too slow and you’ll end up playing with the remote way more than expected. The toilet and shower was a bit too small though, as I felt very restricted trying to move around and bumped into the walls. Weird towel rail positioning above the toilets. There’s no sound proofing at all in the rooms. Bed was not comfortable and you would feel the springs in the mattress. Both are in dire need of replacement. Really good modern lock system that works with a code. The location is pretty good and on the side road which was quiet. Easy access to the promenade and other shops. There’s a Lidl & Asda in walking distance for your own drink top up and late night food. They say there’s private parking but it’s literally for 1 car. So expect to park off street if you’re driving. 3 stars particularly for the bed!

It's okay. Good value for money I suppose. The room has a fair bit of damp and the shower is tiny. The parking is for one car only. It's quite clean however. The shared facilities are excellent, large and very clean. The owners email you just before you arrive to say that they are uncontactable unless via email and they will answer within 24 hours.

My second stay at Seascape and first as a couple. Its well located, clean and remarkably well priced compared to the hotels and pubs with B & B which we normally stay at. It is serviced accommodation accessed by key code and managed remotely so no on site staff (apart from the lovely cleaner) or or any hotel type facilities so it can mean a wet and windy walk out to eat! The facilities are excellent, shared kitchen and dining room, all utensils one might need if so desired and plentiful mugs, water jugs, tea, coffee and (UHT) milk. We stayed in room 3 overlooking the tennis courts and the sea across the promenade which was a lovely sunny room and where I stayed before. Room facilities included a fridge (useful for proper milk) and a de-humidifier with disco lighting which we turned off. The room itself was good, clean and bedding acceptable although an extra or own pillow is a good idea. The bathroom is basic, a small electric shower which had a leak from the tray I had reported last time and a tiny basin with an irritatingly placed shelf above to bash ones head on! Noise was good last time but this stay we were woken early by scaffolding being erected presumably to repair storm damage to the roof - which meant bodes climbing up past the bathroom windows and one very loud non stop talker among the crew. We heard no noise from other rooms and the communal areas were relatively unused and quiet. Parking for me on my first stay was fine as my motorcycle fitted in the on site space as well as a car but second time the space was filled. We street parked close by with no problems - noting we were out of season.
