Can you hear that? It's the call of the wilds of Wales – and if you listen carefully, you may well find it guiding you to this all-natural woodland site in Denbighshire. Wild Hammocks is all about back-to-basics tent and hammock camping in a one-acre forest clearing, reached via a mile-long track through Corwen Forest. Book the whole place for your group and you'll have complete privacy: wander through the trees to find the stream, set up a hammock between the branches, or pitch a tent on one of the flatter spots on the forest floor.
Facilities are minimal but well thought out – a composting toilet, washing-up area with daily water delivery, raised firepit for cooking and a storage tarp to keep kit dry. Ask your host about bushcraft courses to sharpen your wild-camping skills. Despite the remote feel, Corwen's pubs, restaurants and shops are only a 15-minute walk or five-minute drive away, while outdoor pursuits from mountain biking to climbing are all close at hand.

This is a fantastic campsite, whether you want a quiet break, or a family holiday full of adventure! We came with an 8 year old and we had such a great time collecting wood for the fire and playing in the river. There’s so much wildlife too! 🦅🐿️ Local amenities are an easy 20-30min walk away, but the site itself feels like the middle of nowhere🌲 The hosts are really welcoming and friendly, and the site is well maintained. The compost loo is great and the basic facilities are all you need. We’ve only been home an hour and already booked to go back 😂

Great experience. Campsite has a really interesting layout your with plenty of secluded pitches. Shallow stream running through the centre, shallow enough to dip in and walk through. Excellent introduction for my daughter into wild-ish camping. Recommend.
