Lechlade House
Cotswold

Lechlade House began life in the 14th century and evolved through Tudor and Queen Anne periods, layers of history visible in its bones and layout. The building sits in Lechlade, where the Cotswolds meet the Thames Valley—a town recognised for its riverside character and the navigable waters that pass through it. The house itself is the draw here: that sense of centuries lived within stone and timber, now paired with the essentials of modern comfort.
The ground floor holds a kitchen and breakfast room, a study, a family room and a formal drawing room, plus one bedroom with its own shower room. Upstairs, the principal bedroom comes with a dressing room and private bathroom. Two further doubles share a family bathroom on the first floor, and a second floor holds two more bedrooms and another bathroom. Outside, a front garden with a cast-iron gate and a side terrace give you space for meals and sitting. Bed linen, towels, wifi and electricity are all included. Pets stay free of charge. No smoking inside.
From the house you can walk the Thames Path, explore the market square's antique dealers and tea rooms, or venture further into the Cotswolds for its villages and pubs. Oxford, Cheltenham and Bath are all within reasonable driving distance. There's a pub within a mile. The setting suits large groups—whether family gatherings, extended stays or people who want to slow down by the water.
