Ty Newydd y Graig

Denbighshire

View on Google Maps

Ty Newydd y Graig takes its name from its literal foundations—a limestone quarry face that still rises behind the cottage. Built in the 1800s from stone quarried on site, the house sits against Y Graig, an ancient woodland nature reserve. The construction creates an unusual layout with steps in unexpected places and narrow original stairs; the high kitchen threshold exists because the room had to follow the rock beneath it. This is a period property with genuine character rather than modern uniformity, furnished with antique pieces that suit its age, though the kitchen itself is fully equipped for everyday cooking.

The ground floor holds a living room with open fire and Smart TV, a separate sitting room with woodburner, and a dining kitchen. Upstairs are three bedrooms—one double and two twin rooms—plus a bathroom and separate shower room. You get the whole place to yourself, with parking for three cars on site, an enclosed front garden with patio and furniture, and a rear patio. One dog stays free and there's a bike store for exploring the bridle paths nearby. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included. The narrow twisted stairs and various level changes mean the cottage is not suitable for wheelchair users or those with mobility difficulties. No smoking inside.
