Station House

View on Google Maps

Couples and small families looking for a break in the Peak District will find Station House suits them well. This Victorian cottage, built in 1880 as a station master's home, stands directly onto the Monsal Trail with views across open countryside. The whole property is yours alone, with two bedrooms (one king, one zip-and-link double) and a bathroom upstairs, and a full ground floor to spread out in—living room with woodburner, separate dining area, and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking with Aga, induction hob, electric oven and air fryer. Wifi is included, along with bed linen and towels.

Outside, the large garden has a terrace, patio, seating and a firepit, with space to explore. There is a fenced pond in the garden. You can park three cars on site, though the property sits back from the road with steps up to the entrance. The railway heritage is genuinely woven through the building—period photographs show steam trains passing, and railway history books kept in the cottage tell the story. A café stands just 50 metres away. The cottage occupies a hamlet setting in a valley beside the River Wye; one dog is welcome. No smoking inside.
