Have yourselves a good slice of both by staying at Tolverne Shepherd's Hut – this cosy little glamping hideaway sits in Devon but hugs the border between the two counties, letting you roam the best of both as you wish. Set in its own lovely field about 10 minutes from Holsworthy, the hut enjoys splendid seclusion with far-reaching views towards Dartmoor and a decked area complete with firepit, barbecue and pizza oven for alfresco feasts.
Inside, the stylishly kitted-out hut packs everything you need into its clever layout: a fixed double bed with storage beneath, bathroom with shower, and kitchen with two-ring hob, combi oven and fridge. A woodburning stove keeps things snug, and firewood, towels and bed linen are all provided to lighten your packing list. There's plenty to lure you out, though – the north Cornwall coast, Tamar Lakes for canoeing, Dartmoor for proper rambles, plus a couple of pubs nearby when you fancy a chilled-out evening.

We had an amazing stay at this lovely hidden treasure of a shepherds hut, wish we could have stayed longer! Quiet countryside, views for days, this is really a place to come for relaxation and unwinding. The hut is so lovely decorated, spotlessly clean, smelled lovely and everything to a high standard. There was every amenity you could need and we felt very welcome with a lovely mini bottle of prosecco and cupcakes on arrival. Loved the firepit! Would definitely recommend.

Stayed her for a couple nights. Absolutely amazing, host was very kind and welcoming. Booking.com didn't allow us to click to bring out dog so the host wasn't aware we were bringing ours. Was absolutely no problem though, paid a tiny bit extra for him to stay too. Welcomed with chocolates, prosecco and some cupcakes. Lovely touch & even the dog got a little goodie box! Hut was clean and tidy & the facilities were brilliant. By far the best shower we've had in a Shepards hut. Plenty of space for the dog to run around also within the grounds which were fenced off also (apologies for his inquisitive barking when you returned home each time). Would absolutely stay again. Thanks very much for a great couple nights away!
