Bingham Grange Touring and Camping Park

First of all having visited Dorset several times over the last 10 years, myself and my wife simply adore the place, so having not visited for the last few years and not travelling as far west in Dorset as Bridport I was really looking forward to visiting Bingham grange, however closer to my visit I started to read visitors to the sites reviews some of which were not too complimentary, so this left me feeling a liitle anxious prior to our visit. So having arrived back from Bingham only this afternoon after spending the last 10 days there I am able to offer a review based on my experience. The site is set in absolutely gorgeous countryside, ( this from someone living very close to the peak district and Yorkshire Dales) you are enveloped in the constant sound of birds there are fields with public access with access to Bridport, 2 or 3 pubs or just places to walk and spend time in the countryside. The site is extremely dog friendly with a few extended areas to walk your dogs. On site the pitches are laid out differently to what you would expect from a standard C&M site, not as large with a lot of pitches having to park your vehicle across the front of your pitch particularly on the lower part of the site however this is down to the site being only purchased in the last 4 years ( currently in its 4th year of ownership) however there are plans afoot for major updates next year to standardise and modernise the site. The site I found was as you would expect in appearance from others with pleasant clipped hedges on the long drive down to reception, the top part of the site contains the better looking part of the site in my opinion with more pleasant looking trees and little nooks and crannies. There were not many showers which all but 1 were private rooms including sink and toilet. This I think was what caused the most consternation. However personally we found them quirky, only once in the 10 days did I have to wait for a shower room. As I stated earlier the update will remove this issue. The reception is tiny and not somewhere to spend too much time, The wardens particularly Dave & Diane were very friendly and helpful, The site is kept in good order. There are presently takeaway food vans on 4 different nights which we found a nice change and the food we tried was really good. In all the location is what makes this site. If you decide to stay here I hope you have as fantastic a time as we have just had.

Such a fantastic site, a real gem in a lovely peaceful valley. We had a really great stay here in our tent. The facilities are clean and modern; and the availability of unisex family rooms for showing is useful. It's very close to West Bay for the beach and to Bridport for shops and supermarkets. The best part is that each camping pitch is level and most have hedges around them offering shelter and privacy. The site has a nice woodland/river walk and further public footpaths leading from the site just waiting to be explored!

We went to Bingham Grange for our first ever trip in our caravan and we were so glad we chose this site. All staff were very friendly and helpful and we were made to feel welcome from the start. All facilities were well signposted and self explanatory. We took our dogs and the walks in and around the site were delightful. The site was immaculately clean and well kept. Peaceful and idyllic countryside surround the site and a short 4 mile drive took us to the coast. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.

Cannot fault this amazing place. Always get a friendly welcome from the staff on arrival. Pitches a generous size although a few pitches are only 6amp but site advertised as 10amp. Shower facilities always spotless. Have a little shop in the reception area. They have a small freezer to use but no fridge which is always handy if in a tent. Washing machine and tumble dryer by reception. Buzzards restaurant on site is so worth visiting. Big portions, all freshly cooked. If you have room the deserts to die for, they are on display in a glass cabinet near the bar. Good selection of drinks. Sunday lunch they prefer you to reserve a table
