The village of Chideock sits within sight of the Jurassic Coast, where golden cliffs rise above shale beaches and the South West Coast Path runs between Bridport and Lyme Regis. Park Farmhouse, dating to 1750, occupies farmland on the outskirts, a thatched property substantial enough for extended families or groups of up to 18 people. The main building contains nine bedrooms across three storeys—some with four-poster frames, others with singles or bunks—along with seven bathrooms. A converted annexe, once the old creamery, holds two further en-suite bedrooms in a separate wing. The exposed stone walls and timber beams remain visible throughout, evidence of the building's working past.
Layout spreads generously across ground, first and second floors, with three separate living spaces (two with television, one quiet), a dining room seating the full party, and a kitchen equipped for cooking at scale. Essentials including electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are covered. The private grounds feature a nine-metre heated indoor swimming pool with changing facilities and shower, a games room with table tennis, a lawned garden with patio, seating and a barbecue. Parking for eight cars sits on site. The property has steps at the entrance and some uneven floors within; alternative level access is available in places. No smoking throughout. Those arriving with a dog will find extras provided.
Nearby, the pub The George Inn stands in Chideock village. The location suits celebrations, reunions, and large family stays where self-catering and shared facilities matter more than being at the centre of a town. Guests check in after 15:00 and depart by 10:00.

A beautifully ample house to have a group holiday of 16 staying. A very well stocked roomy farmhouse kitchen, large table in the dining room that seated us altogether with two lounges (one with TV) downstairs and another upstairs. Double and twin rooms with en-suite. Not suitable for less able bodied, eldetly or wheelchairs due to steep steps upstairs and garden as well as some steps within the bedrooms, but a lovely quirky cottage.

I was invited to stay here for a week with family. The house itself was lovely, had a nice feel to it and was in a good location. Some may say the furniture and decor is outdated but I think it is in keeping with the style of the house, and gives it an authentic feel. The afternoon tea provided on arrival was very nice as well as the bread. The pool room was well used and a nice addition. The room itself is heated but the water is not as warm as you would expect for somewhere that is advertised as being a heated pool. The garden was a lovely size, plenty of space. The family style bench was good, and the BBQ was used and appreciated. However, the house is described as dog friendly, but when you arrive there are lots of rules for the dogs such as not going to the toilet or exercising in the garden. That to me is not dog friendly. There are plenty of rooms and space for a big family, the kitchen is a good size, and plenty of areas to relax. The outdoor bedrooms have a lovely feel to them. I've seen people complain about traffic noise but I honestly didnt even register this, but I do sleep through anything. I will say though, the house is very warm and the fans provided did nothing to cool us down. We did have some issues however. I have a 5 month old daughter that I brought along with me. I sat her in one of the high chairs provided, and whilst she was sat next to me, I stood and made her milk. The next thing I know, the front of the high chair had fell down and she had gone with it. If her feet hadn't of hooked over the tray, and I didn't move as quickly as I did to grab her, she would have gone head first onto the hard tile floor. Safe to say she did not go in this again. I always double check before leaving my child in anything but this was clearly not safe. The family member who booked the place contacted the host to let them know and they removed the high chairs to review themselves (clearly my baby nearly seriously injuring herself wasn't enough). I dread to think what would have happened. They were black and white Baby Bjorn. We also had another family member go to shut the window in one of the living areas, and as she pulled the window down the glass pane came loose and fell, trapping her hand and slicing it open. She ended up in A&E with stitches. No one touched the windows after this, especially with 4 children in the house. The host was contacted and said they would send someone out. We returned the following day after a day out to find two pieces of duct tape on the window. This was not a fix and clearly unsafe. I would also not reccomend taking any elderly family members to this house, it is a trip hazard. There are little steps into many of the rooms downstairs, and we had an incident where one of the elderly relatives in our party tripped on one of these and went flying, smacking her head and elbow on the way down. This also resulted in a trip to A&E. Overall, many positives but some issues.

My family spent the last week in Park Farmhouse ,17 of us age’s ranging 9 to 82. Sandy went above & beyond to welcome us with home made scones jam & cream also local bread & milk ,which was extremely tasty. The farmhouse had plenty of comfortable rooms so everyone could have time to themselves if needed.Beds were comfortable although some overlooked the main road the secondary glazing kept out most of the noise. Swimming pool was a great success with all very clean & maintained by Mike regularly. The weather wasn’t great but managed to get out ,Lyme Regis was a delightful town with its quirky shops, ice cream & brewery for the Adults went down well. This property is well worth a visit & deserves its 5 stars, we have already booked it for our family holiday next year.

Excellent accommodation. Took the whole family for a celebration weekend. The children loved the pool. Plenty of room for everyone and well equipped. Only downside was the major road outside but once you crossed it only a short walk to Seatown. Large garden for the boys to kick a ball around next to the heated swimming pool. Would recommend.
