Families and larger groups will find Ben ma Cree works well for a week away. Four bedrooms—two kingsize, one double and one single—with two bathrooms mean everyone has space to spread out. The property is yours alone, with parking for three cars on site and a private hot tub in the garden. One pet is welcome.

The layout splits between ground and first floors. Downstairs has the kitchen, equipped to cook proper meals, and two of the bedrooms plus a bathroom. Upstairs, the sitting room opens onto a balcony overlooking Portpatrick harbour and the sea beyond. Bed linen, towels and electricity are included. The property does not allow smoking.

Portpatrick is a working fishing village where you can walk down to the harbour or take the cliff-top path inland. The cottage itself dates back centuries and once served as the toll house for the harbour. It sits in an elevated spot that catches the views across the water toward Ireland.
