About Durham Amateur Rowing Club Certificated Location
Durham Amateur Rowing Club Certificated Location is a campsite run by the rowing club on the riverbank in the heart of Durham. It is a working sports facility first and foremost, which shapes what you get: a no-frills setup with showers in the facilities block and access to the club's cafe, which serves food and has outdoor seating overlooking the water.
The site sits next door to 1860 Bar & Kitchen, and Durham City Cricket Club is just up the road. The riverside setting and central location mean you are within walking distance of Durham's shops, restaurants and the university area. Staff are helpful, and the pricing is straightforward. This is an unpretentious spot suited to visitors who want a functional base rather than a resort experience, and who are happy to be part of an active sports club environment.

What visitors say
This must be one of the best locations we've found within walking distance of the city. Not many pitches so book as soon as possible. Right by the river great for watching the rowing club boats. Amenities very good and a restaurant with bar.

Our son attended the Learn to row during a school holiday. Ray ran it with support from volunteer young rowers of the club. The young ones that assisted were well mannered, engaging, encouraging and generally nice to be around. I don't know all the facilities as it's my son that goes inside, if outside conditions aren't suitable to row. There are racing groups and a Sunday group for those that have done their rowing acquaint, who don't or aren't ready to dedicate to the racing schedule. Lots of opportunities to be involved with in the club and social events. Be careful when you park! Be sure to register in 1860 Kitchen and bar your reg' as to not receive a fine.
