What visitors say
Almost entire site is on a steep slope. I have no idea where the advertising photos were taken from? (there is a flatter area around the "play area") Play area is small, old & the wooden frames are splitting. Toilets are very basic. Showers are small & an extra charge. The owners have multiple dogs in a pen in the center of the site. They bark constantly & as such all of the guests dogs join in. It's very very noisy with dog barking. You have to be off the site by 10am and can’t arrive before 4pm. The owner Mr Price has a poor temperament & attitude. The last thing I would like to add is that people are allowing their dogs to poo & not cleaning it up afterwards - it's disgusting. I saw 1 pile next to the drive way up the middle of the site and another pile was deposited near our tents which my little girl fell on (she's only 4) and was distraught by what happened. If you are going to be a dog friendly site at least make sure the owners clean up after them!

Our host didn't like my review, so he called round to let me know in person. I've never been called viscous before. And certainly not from a man in his dressing gown standing outside our campervan at 10.30 at night in the pouring rain. Meadow Farm campsite is on a gentle north facing slope with a few statics and some long stay tourers. About 6 hard standing pitches, some with EHU (Bring a long lead. Our EHU was about 20 metres away). The rest of the site is grass. The hard standing pitches are a bit muddy and uneven. Some have a 12 inch drop to get on them. Toilets and showers are clean, but space-limited. There was a large pile of rubbish on site waiting to be cleared, but otherwise the site was fairly uncluttered. There was a children's play area though the bin was overflowing with rubbish during our short stay. There is a very small dog walking area. Though we later found out that the campsite was closed for the season, they took the online booking for payment in advance. Had we known that the campsite was closed, we would have gladly made alternative arrangements. We got there at the agreed time, but the gates were locked. Nobody answered the bell or phone. After half an hour they answered the phone and gave us the combination for the lock. We were to find our own way round. I know this isn't a flattering review, but I don't think it is unkind. It definitely didn't deserve the late night visit from the campsite owner. I hope this review helps you make up your own mind.

Great campsite with a very friendly and accommodating owner who immediately made us feel welcome. Gated entry made the site feel nice and secure. I'm glad we paid a few quid extra for a pitch with a fire pit as it gave us the proper camping experience. There is a pen of friendly goats too so be sure to bring carrots! 🐐

This is a brilliant camp site. Facilities are plentiful and clean, the prices are great and there are no finnickity rules. The owner just wants people to come and have a nice time. The play area is really nice and there are live animals roaming the site. Everyone we met there was really friendly and it was quiet at night. We'd would visit again.
