The site is ideally located for exploring the area. It has an area for statics and tourers. On the tourer area there are just few pitches for tourers as most are taken by seasonal sited caravans. While we were there the toilet block didn't appear to have been cleaned for at least 3 days and soap dispensers, loo roll etc, weren't replenished. From the number of seasonal campers, there are obviously many who enjoy the site, perhaps it was just an off week while we were there.

This is a lovely family run site by the Cunningham's who put their life and soul into the place. It has a touring park with excellent facilities and a static caravan park including the top class Riverside Retreat. In the last 12 months the site has added the Steakhouse restaurant which was formerly an old unused pub. The family have renovated it to a lovely standard and it now adds a great facility to the site. There are facilities for the children and some brilliant walks close by. The site is at the edge of Teesdale and the Durham dales with some stunning countryside. Well worth visiting this site if you are a tourer and a great place to have a more permanent holiday home.

Owner extremely rude. River a milky blue!!! And the smell of sewage from it was disgusting. No signs displayed to identify where to take caravan so had to manoeuvre caravan through static Park then seriously damaged our new caravan by having a tight turn with parked cars to our left. Manager was sanctimoniously rude and Unsympathetic about the situation. We won't be back!!!!

Great caravan park for seasonal touring caravans or year round statics if that’s your preference. Everyone is so friendly
