Bishop Auckland sits in the Durham Dales, where rural villages and farming land stretch beneath the North Pennines. Little Glencrest is a stone conversion that was once a milking parlour, now a one-bedroom retreat for two with its own hot tub and completely private garden. It sleeps two people with one bathroom, and you have the whole place to yourselves.

The single bedroom has a kingsize bed and ensuite wet room with walk-in shower. Downstairs, the living and dining space opens through patio doors onto a flagged terrace; there's a wood burner for winter, a smart TV, and the kitchen is fitted with electric oven, induction hob, microwave and fridge. Wi-Fi, bed linen, towels and electricity are provided, with fuel for the burner included. One dog can stay for free. Outside, the enclosed rear garden has a private four-person hot tub, sitting-out area and garden furniture. You'll reach the entrance via one step, though note there are two steps down into the garden itself.

Teesdale Cheesemakers is nearby for shopping and a café. Established footpaths and cycle routes run within walking distance, and the wider area is well-known for exploring on foot. The village itself is quiet; no smoking inside the property.

We have just returned from a fabulous stay at Little Glencrest. The cottage had everything we needed, it was spotless and beautifully decorated. The hot tub was just bliss, wonderful to just sit and look at the stars. Stunning! The area has lots of places to visit nearby and lovely walks. Catherine and Jeff were so friendly when asking for advice. Will return for sure. Martyn and Sharon x

We recently stayed at Little Glencrest what a lovely stay it was. The cottage had everything we needed, the bed was comfy, the underfloor heating was awesome after cold and windy beach walks and the hot tub was great. It was very cold while we were there so the hot tub took a little bit longer to warm up but once it was up to temp, it was so relaxing sat there looking at the stars without any bubbles drowing out conversation. It is a very private location and the owners leave you to it, the only neighbours we saw while we were there were the cows in the field opposite. We had a dog with us and the fact the garden is secure and the cottage has hard floors throughout was brilliant. We would not hesitate to stay again and woudl recommend it to anyone who is looking in the area. Thank you Catherine & Jeff from Paul, Livvie & Shelby

From the very second we arrived at Little Glencrest, we knew we were going to have a wonderful holiday. The relaxing ambience enveloped us immediately. We were surprised at just how spacious the whole cottage was. The photos do not do it justice! It was beautifully clean, comfortable and had lots of very lovely personal touches. Thank you. The owners had specifically said in a note that they would not bother us but were available if any problems occurred. Well, there were no issues, none whatsoever, but how lovely of them to give us the reassurance that we were not going to be pestered? That's exactly what we like. Again, thank you! The welcome pack was way more than we expected. Goodness me! How generous. The hot tub was perfect. No noise, easy to operate and none of those awful chemicals that you get with Jacuzzis. It maintained heat very well too. I can, will, and have recommended this lovely cottage to many people. There are no negatives at all. My only comment is to the owners... You need to charge more! And thank you yet again.

Me and my partner stayed at Little Glencrest last weekend. The cottage was absolutely beautiful and finished to a very high standard. The hot tub was great once it had heated up (this took us around 4 hrs to accomplish). Also, the welcome pack was a very nice touch. Our hosts were brilliant and so helpful! I would 100% recommend this cottage for a relaxing weekend away.
