Walk through the door of The Byre and you're greeted by a ground-floor layout built for real living. The sitting room opens onto a patio and garden, with a woodburner for winter evenings and a Freeview TV for quieter moments. The kitchen and dining space flow together on the same level—a proper room for cooking, with gas hob and oven, dishwasher, and everything needed to feed a family or group. Two bedrooms are downstairs: one with zip-and-link beds, another with two singles. A full bathroom with a spa bath and separate shower completes the ground floor.
Upstairs, a third bedroom has a kingsize bed and its own ensuite. The building's original character—it dates to the 1700s—mixes with modern comfort: underfloor heating throughout, mains electricity, Wi-Fi, and all bed linen and towels provided. The enclosed garden has patio furniture and space for a barbecue. Parking for one car is on site. No smoking inside.
The Byre sits on grounds shared with other holiday cottages, where there's a games room with snooker and pool tables, a sand pit, and a children's play area across an acre. Worth noting: there is a fenced duck pond in the garden. The property suits families and groups wanting a self-contained base near Driffield, with enough space to spread out and cook as you please.

Probably the best value for money property we've stayed in. We were only looking for 3/4 nights initially but great value that the full week was the same price so some stayed longer! Equipped with everything you'd want. Enough kitchen stuff to host 15-20 people! Size of kitchen/diner table was fantastic. Very warm property despite the wooden floors. Underfloor heating likely the reason. Shame we didn't need to light the open fire! Owners and staff incredibly friendly and couldn't help enough with queries and help and advice. The extra facilities were great for all. The grounds and farm activities brilliant and the quality of the snooker table (despite a very small chunk missing from the cloth) and the table tennis table unexpected. Tough to keep things perfect when used by so many. Even options for bird/owl watching in the fields. Everything is driving distance but there's enough there that one doesn't need to leave the property if you've got enough supplies! Couple of minor points with us not quite being prepared for the low beams at one end of the cottage, and the bath was enjoyed by the kids but it's not quite 'adult friendly' size. There are three bathrooms/shower rooms rather than the two advertised on cottages.com (I nearly didn't book it as thought only two showers, so maybe worth that being updated). Would highly recommend. Thanks for a great stay.

We (two adults, a 3 year old and 10 month old) stayed in Meadow View and had a wonderful time. The cottage was spotless when we arrived with a high chair and bed guard all set up for us. The 3 year old made good use of the barn full of ride-on diggers and the sand pit, as well as slides outside on the grass. The games room is fantastic and with older kids I think we'd have used the snooker table quite a bit. We also had a great time looking at the goats, chickens and guinea pigs. Can't recommend this place enough, great for families with kids of all ages! We will definitely be back!

First time staying, group of 15 family members, including 4 young children. This group of cottage was ideal. All together and a lovely communal area between 2 cottages meant we could spend time together, and prepare and eat together but also have own space if and when needed. The children loved it too with so many different “houses” to visit and the outside space too. The owners were lovely and very accommodating. Would highly recommend whether it is for a large group to hire some or all, or just the 2 of you to spend some time in a fabulous part of the country in luxury.

We have stayed at the cottages on numerous occasions! Beautifully cleaned, very high quality and perfect for children! The play barn is great in all weathers and there is so much baby equipment for you to use. Located in a scenic area not far to Driffield for larger shops and you can spend lovely days at the beach without having to travel far.
