East Riding of Yorkshire

Shire Cottage is a converted barn on Marton Manor, a family-run working farm between Bridlington and the Flamborough headlands. The property is your own – a ground-floor open-plan living space with kitchen, dining area and sitting room, plus a first-floor bedroom with a double bed and a bathroom with bath and shower. What makes it different is what's on site: a farm shop, a café serving breakfast and lunch, and a petting area where children can meet the animals. You have use of a bike store, shared grounds with a play area, and parking for two cars.

The location works for different kinds of break. The coast is minutes away – Sewerby Hall overlooks the sea from nearby, and the clifftop walk towards Bridlington is a popular route. Inland, the North York Moors and Yorkshire Wolds are within reach for driving or cycling days. Bempton Cliffs, an RSPB bird sanctuary, is a short drive north. Bridlington itself has two beaches and a working harbour. The cottage suits couples or parents with small children; a travel cot, highchair and stairgate are available on request. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included. No smoking is permitted.

Fantastic baby shower today at Marton Manor Farm Shop and tea room. Individual venue and fabulous set up. Clean and cool, on another scorcher of a summer day. I would highly recommend for any special event.

Lovely breakfast options. Very helpful staff, eager to please with specific requirements for our group of eight. Lots of seating inside and out. Gluten free options. Would recommend.

We popped in for a quick lunch, and what a good decision! Superb tea room. Friendly staff. Home cooked food. The paninis were outstanding. Sadly, the bacon sandwich less so, it was a little on the stringy side. There aren't many tables in the main part of the tea room, but there was outdoor seating available and more tables in the conservatory. The small menu and the prices are reasonable. The farm shop next door is small but well stocked. Local produce is on sale as well as gifts, postcards, etc. Disabled access is good. There is a small "petting zoo" with donkeys, goats, sheep and a couple of pigs. Bags of animal feed are on sale in the shop.

Great place to stay and nice to retreat to after a busy day on the east coast. The cottage has everything you need and "really warm". The Hosts are very welcoming and friendly, we would definitely return here again.

Diners like this cafe's delicious breakfast options, including a full English breakfast, and a wide variety of merchandise in the farm shop. They also highlight the friendly and helpful staff, who are eager to accommodate specific requirements. Guests mention the clean and well-presented environment, with ample seating both indoors and outdoors, including a dog-friendly conservatory.
