Rascal Wood is a detached farmhouse that works well for extended families, friend groups or celebrations needing substantial space. Seven bedrooms across three floors sleep 14: the ground floor master has a king bed and ensuite, while the remaining six bedrooms contain singles, with five ensuites or bathrooms between them. The whole property is yours alone, with parking on site and a one-dog policy in place.

The ground floor spreads across a living room with open fire, separate dining room, and a second sitting area, alongside a kitchen fitted with two electric cookers, three fridges and a dishwasher. A games room contains a pool table and table football. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and electricity are included. The property sits within a large lawned garden with patio seating and a barbecue. You can arrange electric vehicle charging with the owner in advance.

The farmhouse overlooks working arable fields on the edge of Holme-on-Spalding Moor, a 20-minute walk away on foot, where you'll find shops, pubs, restaurants and a bakery. The surrounding countryside opens into lanes suitable for walking and cycling, with the Yorkshire Wolds nearby. No smoking is permitted throughout.

This place was PERFECT for us. There were 10 adults, 3 children and a dog and it never felt too overcrowded. The kitchen is the perfect spot for cooking large meals and gathering around, as well as multiple lounges if you need some space. Plenty of outdoor space to relax in, with outdoor furniture and some fun games from the games room. Overall, it was exactly what we needed. The hosts were lovely, gave us an idea of some local routes as well as being very responsive and helpful. We already discussed how much we would go back!

The older reviews for this property from a couple of years ago do not truly reflect what it is like now! Overall our group had a great stay here but I definitely would not return. Nothing seemed to work properly. The water pressure was terrible even when only one person was showering. The house boasts 3 ovens, however only one worked properly and was so dirty inside. The fridges were warm and not fit for purpose. Lots of other properties in this area to choose from, avoid at all costs. Oh and when you leave you are expected to empty all bins, bathroom, bedroom etc yourself and mop the floors and leave the place as clean as you found it. The oven was probably cleaner when we left it than it was when we arrived!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY staying here. The place looks good on the outside but that’s where it ends. The house has not been cleaned in a long, long time. The floors left everyone’s feet black, the whole place was dusty and dirty. The showers don’t work as there is no water pressure. The ovens don’t work properly and barely heat up. The fridges on the other hand are warm and kept nothing cold. All the kitchen appliances were very old and tatty. The owner expects the guests to clean for the next guests so no wonder the place is in such a state of disrepair. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! *If only I could leave zero stars I would.
