Florence Cottage is a converted fisherman's cottage in Pakefield, the kind of place where the building itself tells you why people have lived here for generations. The owners have renovated it thoroughly while keeping its character intact. You get the whole property to yourself: two bedrooms (one kingsize, one with twin singles), a bathroom, and downstairs a combined living and dining space with a woodburner, plus a kitchen with a full range of appliances including a dishwasher and washing machine. A courtyard garden with seating and a barbecue sits enclosed at the back, and there's parking for one car on site.
The beach is a five-minute walk away across dunes and open ground, and dogs are allowed on it year-round. A pub stands 150 yards from the door, with shops and a restaurant at 250 yards. From here you can reach Southwold, Aldeburgh, Oulton Broad (gateway to the Norfolk Broads), or the RSPB's Minsmere reserve without much driving. Lowestoft itself, Britain's easternmost town, is nearby for exploring the Heritage Coast. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are covered; logs for the woodburner are supplied too, along with a welcome pack and extras for your dog. One pet stays free. No smoking indoors.
