Step through the door of Rose Cottage into a ground-floor living and dining room warmed by a woodburner, with a working kitchen beyond. Upstairs, a double bedroom and bathroom occupy the first floor, while a single bedroom sits on the second, accessed via steep spiral stairs. The cottage sleeps three across its two bedrooms. One dog is welcome to stay at no extra cost.
A front sitting-out area with sea views and rear patio with barbecue provide outdoor space. Parking for one car is on site. The essentials—electricity, heating, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels—are included, along with initial fuel for the wood burner. A washing machine is housed in an outhouse. The cottage dates to the 16th century and sits on the hillside at the end of a row; note that narrow stairs connect the floors and a retaining wall overlooks the rear patio. No smoking is permitted inside.
Hythe, one of the Cinque Ports, lies downhill with shops, restaurants and a beach within walking distance. The Royal Military Canal's tow path is nearby for walks and cycling, and a pub and shop are 500 yards away.
