The Cider Barn at Emmings Farm comes fully equipped for a self-catering break. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and superfast Wi-Fi are all included, along with initial logs for the wood burner. The kitchen has an electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave and fridge. Downstairs is an open-plan living space with a 32-inch TV, DVD player and dining area; a bathroom with bath and walk-in shower sits separately from the toilet. Upstairs, one bedroom has a kingsize bed and TV, the other two single beds. Cots, highchairs and stairgates are available, and a welcome pack arrives on check-in.

The barn conversion occupies part of the owners' 8-acre holding in the Forest of Dean. Outside, a south-facing courtyard has furniture and a BBQ; the meadowland beyond is shared access. You can reach a carp lake by walking along the lane if you fancy fishing (arranged locally). The original cider mill remains in situ, and the owners keep alpacas on the land. A garage and shop are half a mile away; pubs and restaurants about a mile and a half. No smoking inside. Private parking for two cars is on site.

Recently stayed here for 4 nights, as a couple, and we thoroughly enjoyed the warm and comfort of the cottage. Immaculately clean through out, very quiet location with lovely views of fields around. Meeting the farms Alpacas was a great experience. The cottage was spacious, with modern facilities, a great log burner and lovely bathroom with walk in shower and bath. Ideal for any couple looking to get a restful few days away to chill and relax or get out and explore the beautiful forest of dean.

Stayed here for a week recently, had a great time. We have two young kids so nice location to base our stay and explore the surrounding area. Very friendly and accomodating hosts, really cannot fault. The barn was nicely done with plenty of character. Slightly creeky floor upstairs might have made bedtime a tad tricky with our little ones but they were zonked so no drama. Phone signal and internet speed (even on Wifi) was 2MB at best, couldn't stream anything (kids TV) but we managed and it's not why you stay here! Of course the 4 Alpacas were a hit especially with my boy, we miss them and Dave was our favourite :-) Thank you, we'll remember fondly.
