White Birch Manor is a Grade II listed country house built for entertaining on a grand scale. Ten bedrooms across three floors offer configurations for large gatherings—from super king doubles with woodburners to single rooms—with eight bathrooms between them. Bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are provided, and the heating runs throughout. Each floor has its own character: the ground level holds two kitchens, multiple living spaces and a bar area; upper floors are given over mostly to bedrooms and bathing rooms, several with roll-top or slipper baths.
The grounds matter as much as the building itself. Seven acres surround the house, with a private heated swimming pool (open May to September), a hot tub for seven, and a dedicated field for dogs to roam. An external kitchen equipped with barbecue and pizza oven opens onto a patio overlooking the enclosed garden. There is private parking for eight cars. Ponds and a moat sit within the property boundaries. No smoking is permitted indoors.
Based near Newnham in the Forest of Dean, the manor suits groups and celebrations—families gathering for a week, or friends marking an occasion together. Branches Farm lies nearby if you need local supplies. One well-behaved dog stays free of charge.

What guests say
What can I say, we had the most magical wedding experience from start to finish. White Birch Manor provided the perfect setting for our intimate winter family wedding. Symon and Ruth did a fantastic job from our first contact with them. Making sure the day was just as we wanted. Ruth, was there all the way through with her expert advice and support both in planning and making the weekend and our very special day go without a hitch. As for the food, Symon is a fantastic chef, he completely met our requirements, and some. Everyone commented on how fabulous all the food was. We described our White Birch Manor experience as sophisticated but relaxed, with nothing being too much trouble to make our wedding just perfect. I cried when I had to say goodbye!

We had the most beautiful and memorable intimate wedding at White Birch last month. Everything from start to finish was so carefully and thoughtfully planned out. Ruth and Symon are truly experts at what they do. They are highly professional and warm and everything was perfectly organised. From our initial visits over a year before our wedding, down to tiny details on the day, everything seemed effortless. Although we know so much hard work goes into curating the whole experience, it felt so relaxed and was crafted to suit us personally. Symon's food was delicious, and we really appreciated his flexibility when it came to catering for one of our guests with dietary requirements. Thank you Ruth and Symon for bringing our vision to life and helping to create memories we will cherish forever.

It’s hard to put into words how amazing our wedding weekend at White Birch Manor has been, but we will try! From the very first time we set foot into the house we couldn’t have felt more welcomed and at ease with Ruth and Symon. They took as much time as we needed and nothing was too much trouble for them. White Birch Manor is so much more than a just a venue, Ruth and Symon pour their heart and souls into this and you can really see it in everything they do. From the little extra touches around the house and grounds that make it extra special, to the guidance and help they offer at the planning stages. And the food…….. everything we ate over the entire weekend was truly outstanding. Our guests kept raving about the food and how stunning the house was, everyone was blown away by it all! It’s fair to say our dream wedding was only made possible by all the hard work that Symon and Ruth put in and we literally can’t thank them enough! Mr & Mrs G x

We celebrated our wedding at White Birch Manor in April with just 14 guests, and the experience was incredible from start to finish. Ruth was always on hand throughout the planning stages with support and suggestions, and was able to recommend a celebrant, photographer, hairdresser and florist who were fairly local and familiar with the venue already, which was so helpful, as we live in Surrey. Planning and hosting a wedding can be stressful but that was completely taken away from us by Ruth, Symon and their wonderful team, who provided such a personal service. We really felt that we were dealing with friends rather than a business - and were made to feel so special and that our wedding was the only one on their agenda. We were so lucky that we had a sunny day and had support from the team on all aspects of the day, from dress arranging, buttonhole fitting, liaising with the florist to arrange the table, to taking multiple additional photos to share with us! We could write a separate review just for the food, which was delicious and beautifully presented and tailored to our needs - plenty of tasty canapes and a fantastic meal followed by a cheese cake (groom's cake) which was later broken down into a grazing board, although people had been so spoilt at the meal they really didn't need any more - but they found room! We were lucky to benefit from the lovely garden, where we got married and were able to have drinks and some garden games, which was perfect for our small party. The accommodation for our guests was perfect and everyone was able to stay the night and enjoy the sumptuous breakfast the following morning. I would not hesitate to recommend White Birch Manor to anyone who is looking for an intimate venue for a wedding or family get together - perhaps next time we will come in the summer so that we can use the lovely pool and barbecue area! Thank you to Ruth, Symon and all the team for looking after us and our families so nicely - the feedback from our guests was fantastic so we definitely chose the right venue.
