A clssic old fashioned tea room with friendly service. Plenty of outdoor seating. We went on the train to Peterborough and back. You can also go the other way to Water Newton or a full round trip. Prices for train I felt were very steep, and punitive for a family. Just the platform cafe is fun in itself though!

Lovely find to have a drink and a cake while up very close to the steam train. Beware how close you are and the smuts from the engine.. The tearoom and platform are very authenticly old but well kept. Very limited choice in the tearoom however so don't go if hungry. 😉 Loved it, a proper find and great to enjoy the engines so close... 👍

Arrived on the steam train, and it's like a pleasant time warp. The train sets the scene. It's comfortable and the unforgettable noises and smells from the steam engine were fantastic. Stepping out of the train on to the platform, this station has been immaculately kept. The decor is authentic and there is a lovely cafe serving tea, coffee and lovely sweet treats. If you Cross the crossing, you can see a display of old Royal Mail vans and the cab of a Royal Mail Networker train , which I used to see going up and down the East Coast Main Line in the 1990's. This is a good place to get off and have a mooch around and have a cup of tea and a slice of cake. A great way to spend a week end.
