About Larkrise Holiday Site
Larkrise Holiday Site is what happens when you strip away all the theme-park frills and let the Lincolnshire countryside do the talking. This small, farm-based campsite offers a huge grass pitching field with genuinely spectacular views, electric and non-electric options, and little more than fresh eggs from resident hens and the kind of peace that makes early mornings worthwhile. It's a mile from the local village – pubs and shops covered – and the same distance to Uncle Henry's Farm Shop, an award-winner whose tractors and tyre swings will distract children long enough for you to stock up on excellent local produce.
Some might find the facilities fairly basic, but that's rather the point: showers, loos, chemical disposal and picnic tables, nothing flashy. Lincoln is a twenty-five-minute drive if you fancy a dose of city culture, though most visitors seem content to settle in, let the dogs roam, and remember what genuine quiet sounds like.

What visitors say
Stayed on the campsite for 2 nights and the hosts John and Susie were lovely. The "manager", on the other hand clearly has no idea about how to manage a property nor anything about customer service. I found her to be very rude and I am a very tolerant person. The place is low cost and good value in that sense but it's a place very much stuck in the past. If easy jet did camping, this would be it. The site needs a tidy up, the annoying padlock on the gate needs removing. Difficult to put back on and I almost threw it in the bin. Honestly there are better places down the road, I have been and stayed there (they were booked up hence we couldn't) and I would just suggest you look slightly further afield. We shall not be returning. It's not for us. Have been camping with the kids for over 9 years. It's a field with hedgerows around it. No view. Near a road. No hot water. No washing up facilities and showers which have seen much better days. Good for a stop over. Certainly not a break. The place has potential with some investment and customer service training (with the exception of John and his wife who without a doubt are the lovest people you will meet)

Excellent cottage ,peaceful surroundings. Very helpful and informative host. Near Gainsborough and Lincoln. Plenty of walking and places of interest.

Had an amazing 4 days arrived at the site and was immediately made welcome by Stacey who was friendly and knowledgeable and showed me the pitch and facilities available.After a short time a member of staff checked that everything was ok. My stay was extremely enjoyable ,the site was very peaceful and relaxing. The site was home to horses, pigs, geese and chickens making it a wonderful countryside experiance.I found the toilets and showers always clean and adequate for the purpose,the owner was very friendly and always had time for a chat I am looking forward to visiting again in the near future.

The staff/owners were brilliant, very friendly and chatty. We knew it was going to be a basic site so we had no problem with that. The bins in the field were full and overflowing whilst we were there. It wasn't until we were leaving that we found out that there was a toilet waste. We had looked at some of the previous reviews regarding cleanliness and thought that they were just being picky. I would have to agree that even though it is a basic site it is not as clean as it should be. Shower had the same hairs on it all the weekend. Cobwebs had brick dust on them which meant that they were there for a very long time and the toilets smelt of ammonia due to the chickens being next door which was very strong, you could not stay to long in the toilet. Only cold water in the toilets/washroom.
