What visitors say
Went for a birthday party and my daughter had a good time. As a guest we enjoyed helping from staff to encourage the kids and tools (polar bears/penguins). Small party room was okay for a group of 8-9 kids. Parking you have to pay for, otherwise the road outside is free but park at your own risk as it's a busy main road.

Planet Ice is a fantastic ice skating venue, not just for skating but also to watch Invicta Dynamos ice hockey team. The atmosphere is always electric inside. There are plenty of food and drink options. Jacket potato choices are very affordable but take about ten minutes to prepare. There's a great merchandise store with plenty of Invicta Dynamos items as well. Please note that if you are seated beyond the players tunnel, you will only be able to enter and leave that section of the stand during an interval in play

A unique activity which the kids love. Sadly it is just too expensive...a family of 5, all needing skates, and the youngest needing a skating aid...at the weekend, or half-term, is almost £100. Before snacks in the cafe. If it was cheaper we might go more than once a year. Also both times we have attended my first pair of skates have been dangerously blunt and I've had to change them (first time skaters probably won't realise if there skates are not sharp - this is not safe).

I really enjoy coming here but it does get a bit expensive if you want to go a couple of times a week. There is no child fare so everyone is £15. Then £3 to hire skates and 4% "booking fee" when you book online - sorry what? It's a QR coad sent to your email! Oh, and the car park is not free - just park on the main road. It's big, free all day and there is usually plenty of space. Even on weekends and bank holidays. We ended up buying our own skates - we can last longer in them rather than the hard ski-like boots. I wish there was a membership option you can pay for monthly or buy multiple sessions at a lower rate if you go more often. Membership option is currently only available for advanced skaters, which is a shame. Otherwise, everyone is super friendly and it's a lovely ice rink. Cafe is also huge but I've never been.

People say this ice rink offers good value for money with extended skating sessions, has friendly and helpful staff, and provides a fun experience for families.
Other reviews mention the ice can be poorly maintained and rental skates can be blunt.
