About The Sheppey
The Sheppey's kitchen and bar are as much the point of staying here as the rooms, with a varied menu that includes proper vegan and gluten-free choices alongside a good range of local beers and ciders. The garden and outdoor seating by the river add a relaxed spot for a pint or a meal, and the decor throughout has a quirky, individual character rather than anything corporate.
Rooms are en-suite and come with drinks available in-room, plus free WiFi throughout. This is adults-only accommodation, which keeps things quiet, though kids meals are still available for daytime diners. Breakfast is served each morning, and there's a snack bar for anything lighter, with staff generally attentive and quick to help.
Practical extras include 24-hour reception, meeting rooms, and free on-site parking, making it straightforward whether arriving late or working during a stay. Glastonbury itself is on the doorstep for exploring, and fishing, pubs, and other restaurants are all within easy reach nearby.

What guests say
My husband and I eat here regularly, however the lunch we had recently was probably the best meal we’ve eaten all year. We love the recent menu revamp. I had a whitebait and scampi main, followed by a chargrilled tuna steak main, which was served with chips, green beans and a moules mariniere sauce. Both courses were absolutely delicious! The service, as always, was excellent and the setting, by the river on a hot summer’s day, can’t be beaten. Recommend to all in the area.

Absolutely loved the relaxed vibe of Sunday afternoon lunch. This is Sunday summer dining outside as it should be - sights sounds and thrills of the riverside and adjoining lev ls countryside combined with truly great cooking and a wonderful selection of drinks. A service team that could not be more helpful and attentive and a laid back chillout soul backing track among the art to complete the picture. Idyllic. £,75 for 2 for mains and drinks. Just perfection

Absolutely fantastic debut visit here for lunch: dreamy setting on the sun-filled terrace with dub reggae music to set the stage. The burgers were absolutely incredible and the chips were to die for! The team were really good, helpful and well informed. Brilliant choice of drinks and really quirky and interesting decor. We will definitely return once Summer is in full swing.

This is a "GO TO" , I'd even class as a destination pub. Friendly Inviting and Vibrant with a decidedly varied and fabulous menu. Staff are delightful; service was so attentive. We dropped in hungry for food and company and were greeted with all we desired Love it and look forward to more...
