Small working-farm site in Wookey, two miles from Wells
About Pine Tree Farm Camping and Caravan Park
Pine Tree Farm is a small, family-run campsite tucked into a working farm on the edge of the Mendip Hills, around two miles from Wells and Wookey Hole Caves. As a Camping and Caravanning Club Certificated Site, it keeps to a handful of pitches – a mix of hardstanding with electric hook-up and flat, mown grass for tents – which suits campers after a quieter, low-key stay rather than the buzz of a commercial holiday park.
Facilities are kept simple in keeping with the farm setting, and while some visitors note they can feel a little tired in places, the trade-off is space, tranquillity and easy access to walking straight from your pitch along the surrounding lanes. The working farm adds gentle interest for families, and the small scale means it rarely feels crowded even in peak season. It's a practical, low-cost base for visiting Wookey Hole, Wells Cathedral and the wider Mendips without the frills or the price tag of busier sites nearby.

This campsite is a hidden gem. Surroundings are stunning, shower, toilet block, washing up area. It is a working farm, Barbara the owner is lovely, nothing is too much trouble.

Lovely small campsite. Two toilets, two seperate showers which are kept neat and clean. Good hot water, 1 pound per shower, which felt like a good trade. It's quiet on the grounds and the location is lovely. Lady who owns it is very kind. Great location to get your dose of rest or to visit Glastonbury and/or Wells.

I've been coming here since my children were tiny- over 25 years . It's small, beautiful, a working farm, which my children really enjoyed back when they were small . Barbara, the farmer, is warm and welcoming. It is handily situated between Wells and Glastonbury but in a quiet rural spot. Not a place for you if you like extra facilties, here there are just immaculately clean toilets and showers, peace and quiet and beauty.
