Beachside Holidays - No 1 Hickling Chalet
Great Yarmouth
View on Google MapsPhoto: Beachside Holidays Norfolk
The Norfolk coast here offers immediate access to a working seaside resort. Great Yarmouth's Golden Mile, pleasure beach and arcades are a short drive away, while the Norfolk Broads lie within easy reach for a quieter alternative. Locally, you're walking distance from amusements, an indoor swimming pool, shops and restaurants—everything needed for a traditional seaside break without needing to plan journeys.
No. 1 Hickling Chalet is one of six chalets set in the grounds of Beachside Holiday Chalets, a small private park near the beach. All accommodation is on the ground floor: an open-plan living and dining area with Freeview TV, a kitchen with electric cooker and microwave for home cooking, two bedrooms (a double and a three-quarter double), and a shower room. A travel cot and highchair are available. Your own patio with seating overlooks a shared garden; one parking space is provided on site. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included.
The layout suits families and couples wanting a straightforward seaside base. The beach is moments away, the morning air from your patio is consistently salty, and the flat Norfolk light in winter is distinctive if you come outside the school holidays. No smoking in the property.

What an absolute gem this place is! We have stayed close by on holiday for many years and walked/driven past it on numerous occasions but this year we finally got round to booking and staying, and thank goodness we did! The chalet was clean and well-equipped, having everything we needed. The grounds are well maintained and there are benches/picnic tables to use, aswell as disposable BBQs to purchase and an area to use them in. Lou kept in touch and was available should we have needed her. As others have said, the view is second to none and it is honestly so peaceful, especially at night when all you can hear are the waves. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Beachside Holidays to anyone. We will be back!

This is the second time I've stayed here, I love it! So peaceful and quiet, the only sound you hear is the waves crashing against the shore and the crying of seagulls. Get up early enough and you can watch the sunrise whilst sitting on the terrace drinking a brew. Pretty much heaven. Chalets are very clean (a lot of MINISCULE spiders, so if you have severe arachnophobia, just a warning - although I'm quite positive Stu and Lou can't help it if you get arachnids in your room!), the beds are SO comfortable, and everything you need is waiting for you upon arrival. Dog-friendly too so you can bring your pooch and take them for a stroll along the beach. Any problems and the owners are falling over themselves trying to help. Edit: Stayed here 5 times now. ADORE this place! Plenty of take-aways and restaurants locally, places to go if you want to see the seals in their natural habitat up close, and Great Yarmouth is a mere 15 minute drive away. This place has now become my little piece of heaven on the east coast of England. I'm very begrudgingly leaving this review cause if they get too popular, they'll put their incredibly reasonable prices up!

After a difficult few months, we just needed a break where we could rest and relax and our Hickling chalet was perfect for this. Well equipped and comfortable, the views are amazing - we loved being able to sit and look out over the sea, especially during the storm we had! The owners did everything to help us enjoy our stay. There’s also a lovely bakery down the road!
