About The Fox And Hounds
The Fox And Hounds suits travellers who want a no-fuss base for exploring North Yorkshire rather than a destination in itself. Set in Slapewath, just outside Guisborough, it works well for those touring by car, with free on-site parking, or for anyone bringing a dog along, since pets are welcome throughout.
The hotel has 13 rooms with en-suite bathrooms, drinks available to order, and free WiFi, giving guests a comfortable if traditional standard of accommodation. There's a restaurant and bar on site along with a snack bar for something lighter, and breakfast is served each morning. Reception operates around the clock, and a meeting room is available for anyone combining the stay with business.
Outside the hotel, the surrounding area offers golf and fishing for those wanting to fill their days actively, along with further pubs, bars and restaurants nearby for evenings out. It's a practical choice for touring the region rather than a country retreat, with the essentials covered and the North Yorkshire countryside close at hand.
