River Edge Mill

River Edge Mill comes thoroughly equipped for self-catering. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge-freezer, so you can cook properly or keep things simple. Heating and hot water are sorted, the initial fuel for the woodburner is provided, and wifi, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included. You get the whole place to yourself with parking for four cars on site.

The layout is straightforward: ground floor dining room and kitchen, plus a bedroom with a kingsize bed and two single bedrooms. There are two bathrooms—one with a bath and shower, one with a shower cubicle—so mornings don't get too frantic. Upstairs, the living room has a woodburner and Freeview TV. One dog stays free. The garden runs down to the River Llyfni, though it is unfenced along the water's edge, so that matters if you have young children or are not confident about pets near water.

Pontllyfni is a quiet village on the coast where sea trout fishing is well known; two weekly fishing permits are included, giving access to six lakes and 40 miles of rivers. The beach is one mile away. Caernarfon and its castle are a short drive, as is the Welsh Highland Railway and Zip World. The Snowdonia Mountains offer serious walking; the coast is gentler. No smoking indoors.
