Trewern
Gwynedd
Aberdaron is a remote village on the Gwynedd coast, where the pace slows and the horizons open up. Trewern sits on the hillside above it, a single-storey cottage with views across to the water and the offshore islands. The village itself is a five-minute walk downhill—sandy beach, local shops and restaurants all within reach—but far enough that you feel properly away from things.
The cottage sleeps six across two bedrooms: a king-size with its own shower room, and a second with a double bed and two bunks. The main living space is an L-shaped room with a woodburner, shelves of books and DVDs, and a Freeview television. Behind that, a conservatory opens onto the rear garden—a large, enclosed lawn where children can play safely, with patio and decking areas and a barbecue. The kitchen is fully equipped for proper cooking, and there's a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Wifi is included, along with bed linen, towels and initial logs for the stove. Underfloor heating runs from October to April.
The garden faces a highly protected conservation area, which means the birdsong is constant and the wildlife visible—cormorants, herons and sea eagles if you're patient with the binoculars provided. Families with young children will find a travel cot, highchair and pushchair already here, and wetsuits in various sizes. No smoking inside. Private parking for several cars sits on the drive.
