A visit to Waterworld Stoke-on-Trent is easily one of the best family days out near Sheffield, and it absolutely lives up to the hype. From the moment you walk in, the tropical heat and lively atmosphere make it feel like a mini holiday rather than a day trip. The standout feature has to be the waterslides. There’s a huge variety, from fast, twisting rides to full-on adrenaline slides like the near-vertical drop experiences and multi-lane racers. With over 30 rides and attractions, there’s genuinely something for everyone, whether you’re after thrills or just a relaxing float around the lazy river . The wave pool is another highlight, creating a proper seaside feel indoors and adding to the overall fun. What really impressed me, though, was the staff. Throughout the day, lifeguards were attentive and professional, keeping a close eye on everything while still being friendly and approachable. It made the whole experience feel safe and well managed, especially for families with younger children. Reviews often highlight how helpful and visible the staff are, which definitely matched my experience . The park is clean, well organised, and full of energy. Yes, it can get busy at peak times, but that’s expected for a place this popular. Overall, if you’re looking for a fun, action-packed day out with excellent slides and genuinely great staff, Waterworld is hard to beat.

Took our daughter for birthday party that was pre booked. We skipped the long queues and all of our party had the best time ever. Food was so lovely. Chicken nuggets are to die for and real chicken!! The party was spectacular and a special mention to AMAL who was our host. Nothing was too much trouble for her. It was so busy and she went above and beyond. Thank you so much Amal and well done. Excellent on every level. Well done to everyone there also!.

My experience at Waterworld Stoke-on-Trent was very good. It’s a fantastic place, especially for children, and perfect for spending quality time with the family. The atmosphere is lovely, the indoor temperature was warm and comfortable, and all the pools were clean and well maintained. The staff were also very friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. They also sell snacks, which is convenient if you’re spending the day there. There are, however, two things that I think could be improved. The first is the waiting time for the larger slides. The queues can easily be over an hour long, which feels excessive, especially since your visit is time-limited. If you manage to go on two of the big slides, you’ve likely spent around two hours just waiting in line for only a few seconds of fun. It would be great if there were a way to make the process more efficient so guests could spend less time queuing and more time enjoying the attractions. The second point is the no-phone photography policy. I completely understand that this rule is in place to protect people’s privacy, especially with so many children, families, and visitors who may not wish to appear in photos for personal or religious reasons. I fully respect that. However, I think it would be a great idea to create a designated photo area where families could take pictures without affecting anyone else’s privacy. For example, a small spot overlooking the outdoor pool and the slides, where staff could ensure that no other guests are in the background. When booking through the app, you’re offered professional photos for an extra £20, but not everyone can afford or wants to pay for that service. Having a dedicated photo spot where guests can use their own phones would allow everyone to take home a special family memory while still respecting the privacy policy. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would definitely visit again. With some improvements to the queue system and a designated family photo area, the experience would be even better.

Waterworld boasts about being the biggest waterpark in the UK. We went during the week, outside of school holiday. Prices are quite high, so expectations were high too! Unfortunately, the park infrastructure is outdated and the layout imperfect (e.g., concrete pillars in the wave pool). The park wasn’t very busy, so we thought we could do a lot of slides - but the queues for the slides were long, as they only opened intermittently. Overall, we have visited much more enjoyable waterparks with smaller price tags. Summary: I’d give Waterworld a miss unless you can get a deal on tickets.
