What guests say
Have had a lovely stay here. Room was beautiful, bed comfy and appreciated the fan and the fresh milk in a thermos for making tea and coffee in the room. The bonus was our dog could stay too. Made to feel very welcome and enjoyed our evening meal in the bar. Friendly and helpful staff.

We visited The Castle Inn on the Friday before Easter and were surprised at how quiet it was. Despite not having a reservation, we received a warm welcome and were quickly shown to a table in the restaurant, which was a great start to the evening. For food, my husband ordered the fish and chips, while I chose the sweet potato soup followed by the prawn cocktail. Unfortunately, the fish and chips were disappointing. The first serving arrived cold and had to be sent back. The replacement came quickly, but the batter was overcooked and the fish itself was dry, which really let the dish down. On a more positive note, my sweet potato soup was absolutely delicious, and the prawn cocktail was also very enjoyable—both dishes were fresh, well-prepared, and full of flavour. Sadly, the experience was overshadowed after our visit when we received a £60 Parking Eye fine. As first-time visitors, we were unaware that we needed to register our car details, and this was not made clear to us during our visit. Overall, while there were some highlights with the food and service, the issues with the main course and the parking situation have left us feeling disappointed. Based on this experience, we would rate it around 3 out of 5 and are unlikely to return.

We visited to with my elderly parents, dad is not very mobile and walks with an aid. We were met at the door by Sophie who was really attentive and polite. Sophie showed us to our table and for the next hour and half look after us all. Sophie made our meal so much better by her pleasant demeanour and amazing customer service She a credit to your team

£10 for 3 chicken wings! They don't even inform you that you only get 3 as I would not have ordered. Asked the waitress about it who went to check with the chef. That's how it is. Food was nice though and staff friendly. Hotel was great.
