Camping in Harrogate

Harrogate itself has no campsites within the town, but several well-regarded parks sit within a few miles, making the most of the rolling countryside between the town, Nidderdale and the Yorkshire Dales. From a golf-and-spa estate on Harrogate's own southern edge to family-run touring parks a short drive along the A59 or towards Ripon, the area offers a genuine spread of camping and touring options without needing to travel far from the town's shops and spa attractions.

Facilities across the local sites lean towards well-equipped, established touring parks rather than basic backpacker pitches, with several holding AA star ratings and offering indoor pools, on-site shops and licensed bars alongside standard hook-up pitches. Expect a mix of touring caravan, motorhome and tent pitches, seasonal pitches for regular visitors, and, at the larger sites, static holiday homes available to rent or buy outright. Dogs are welcome at all three parks below, in keeping with the walking- and cycling-friendly character of the surrounding Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

All three sites are within a short drive of Harrogate town centre, making them practical bases for day trips into town for Bettys, the Turkish Baths or the shops, while also putting Ripon, Fountains Abbey and the wider Yorkshire Dales within easy reach. Booking ahead is advisable through the spring and autumn Flower Show periods and across the school summer holidays, when these long-established, well-regarded parks fill quickly.
