Tiny campground near Haverfordwest with an indoor swimming pool and wild camping pitches among forest and lake.
About Digs in the Wig
Digs in the Wig is a small campground in remote Pembrokeshire countryside, taking tent and motorhome pitches on a working farm. What sets it apart is the indoor swimming pool—unusual for a site this size, which has just one to ten pitches. The setting is genuinely remote, surrounded by forest and lake with scope for wild camping, and the facilities reflect both comfort and sustainability: showers, composting toilets, water hook-ups for tourers, renewable energy and recycling on site.
Pitches come with parking by your unit, and the site welcomes dogs year-round, single-sex groups, motorcyclists and commercial vehicles. Campfires and barbecues are allowed. A bar and restaurant are nearby, along with shops and a dog walk, plus the area is primed for outdoor pursuits: canoeing and kayaking, cycling, mountain biking and fishing are all accessible locally. The combination of isolation, the pool, and a working farm setting appeals to those seeking peace without total removal from facilities.

What visitors say
"Where Wi-Fi fears to tread, and owls drop the hottest tracks of the night." If you’ve ever dreamed of escaping to a place where the loudest thing you’ll hear is a goose with questionable vocal training, Digs in the Wig is your jam. My friends and I just spent a long weekend here that felt like camping’s cooler, better-looking cousin - the one who wears flannel ironically and knows how to build a campfire without a YouTube tutorial. Howell, the one-man legend who runs the place, somehow manages to be everywhere at once - usually spotted zooming past on his quad bike like a countryside superhero. Need something? Blink twice and he’ll appear. (Probably/Possibly). This is proper wild camping - think rustic showers, crackling campfires, and eco-loos that take a while to get used to, but make you feel like a better human being once you do. And then there’s the unexpected Welsh plot twist: a bookable indoor swimming pool that feels like dipping into a giant cwtch - warm, welcoming, and the kids absolutely loved it. We pitched together in the main field (hello, group camp vibes), but plenty of the ‘Digs’ are tucked away in the woodland for when you want your own personal slice of West Wales heaven. Nights are for fires under the stars, days are for doing blissfully nothing, and mornings… well, mornings are a full-blown cow chorus. Dog-friendly, people-friendly, stress-unfriendly - Digs in the Wig is the kind of place you almost don’t want to review because you secretly want to keep it to yourself. Almost.

We had a fantastic week camping here. It was the first week of school holidays but there was only one other family at the site, we felt like we had our own private strip of woodland with hot showers in the nearby field. The kitchen area is great, as it often starts to feel chaotic when camping not having a surface to prepare food. It's a beautiful area of Wales that was a welcome change from the hustle and bustle of Cornwall in summer where we live. We will be back.

Such at great weekend at Digs in the Wigs with a group of friends. It’s a beautiful site in a beautiful part of Pembrokeshire. The hosts and their children were so friendly and helpful all weekend. Great eco toilets and hot shower facilities. Looking forward to going back there soon! Thanks again Howell!
