The Cider Barn is a standalone conversion in rural Herefordshire, sleeping two in one bedroom. Everything needed for a self-catering stay is provided: electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wi-fi are all included, along with initial fuel for the wood burner. The kitchen has an electric cooker and microwave for preparing meals, and the living space combines original beams with a woodburner for warmth on cooler days.
The single bedroom contains a double bed and opens into the eaves of the barn, while downstairs a shower room and combined living and dining area make up the rest of the layout. Outside, an enclosed patio with garden furniture and a BBQ provides a private space to sit, with access to the owner's 3-acre grounds beyond. Parking for two cars is on site. The surrounding countryside is popular with walkers—Offa's Dyke and various other routes are nearby—and the small towns of Leominster and Presteigne offer local interest. Note that the property sits near an unfenced river, about 20 feet away. No smoking indoors.

My wife and I had a superb Sunday lunch yesterday. Our first visit. A friendly welcome and serving team. We sat outside enjoying the lovely views across rolling Herefordshire countryside. The food was excellent. Starters of black pudding sausage roll and smoked salmon & shrimp ballotine. Mains of perfectly cooked sea bream fillet and mouthwateringly good stuffed porcetta. Dunkertons cider to drink. Very reasonably priced. All-in-all, a very enjoyable experience.

Wonderful destination for a special meal out. Really creative food which we all loved. Highly recommend!

I think I've just had the best Sunday lunch that I can ever remember. Not only was the meat cooked to perfection, oozing with flavour, but the vegetables were amazing. Each portion was a delight. Delicately seasoned with herbs and toasted seeds they were in a class above what is served elsewhere. All accompanied with a generous serving of delicious gravy. The sticky toffee pudding was also superb. Simply the best.

Based on the good reviews, we went there for our anniversary 3 months ago. We regret having wasted over £80 for an utterly disappointing meal. Yes the views from the restaurant are stunning, and the decor and service are good. However, the food is very bad. It was not busy at all when we arrived as there were only a couple of people sitting ar a table. My husband ordered lamb steak and I, beef steak. Every thing on the plates are so salty including the veg and gravy that they tasted bitter. The gravy is the worst. They used the same gravy for both lamb and beef steaks. It looks and tastes just like instant gravy granules from a cheap brand diluted in water. We had to force down some of our food as we were already very hungry and we didn't want to waste our money. We wish we could complain and get something else. But you know, you should never complain in a restaurant and order again because you never know what would be in your plate next. A disappointing and depressing meal for our anniversary indeed.
