Balloan Farm Cottage

This two-bedroom cottage occupies a working sheep farm a mile and a half from Lairg. The setting brings its own rewards—fresh eggs available from the farm, and a herd of goats that enjoy attention. One dog stays free, and the enclosed garden gives them space to roam. The property is not suitable for children under ten.

Downstairs holds a living room with a wood burner and Smart TV, a dining room, and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking. A conservatory opens onto decking and has its own wood burner too. The main bedroom is a super-kingsize with an ensuite wet room. Upstairs, a second living space (without TV), a twin bedroom, and a family bathroom with a bath and shower complete the layout. Heating comes from an oil central system, and essentials like electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included.

The Highlands around Lairg offer hill-walking, fishing in lochs and rivers, pony trekking, and wildlife watching—seals and otters appear in the bay, and the area draws birdwatchers. Dornoch's golf course lies within reasonable reach. The enclosed garden has patio seating and a barbecue for outdoor meals.
