🏡 Self-Catering Cottage 🐾 Pets Welcome

Einich

Photo: Rob Henderson

Families and larger groups will find Einich works well for a Highland retreat. The house sleeps 8 across four bedrooms—a kingsize, two doubles, and a twin—with two bathrooms to share the space. Ground floor has the main living areas: a sitting room with TV and streaming services, a dining room, and a kitchen equipped for self-catering with an electric cooker, dishwasher and all basics. Upstairs there's a second sitting room without a television, useful for quieter time. Heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are included, along with Wi-Fi throughout.

The property sits in Newtonmore village within the Cairngorms National Park, on a plot with an enclosed lawned garden and parking for three cars. A pub, shop and restaurant are within walking distance. The location puts you within reach of Aviemore's facilities 14 miles away and opens access to serious outdoor pursuits: the Cairngorm ski area, mountain biking, fishing, golf and climbing all operate locally. The Highland Wildlife Park, the Folk Museum and Loch Garten Nature Reserve suit families wanting activities beyond walks. One well-behaved pet is welcome. The house does have steep spiral stairs and narrow sections, so worth noting if mobility is a consideration. Non-smokers only.

This is a good walk for those who want to go somewhere off grid and still get back to the car. You get a true taste of the Cairngorms without being at risk of being stranded at the top of a mountain in the snow and fog. Was a most pleasurable experience and would definitely go again and even camp up next to the loch.

Absolutely stunning place to wild camp,so peaceful and the walk in is breathtaking aswell. If you need to get away from the Rat Race so to speak and clear your mind for a period of time? I can't recommend enough 👍

Absolutely beautiful loch. Well worth the walk, or bike ride to it. Can be particularly testing to ride there, with a lot of challenging sections. The effort there is well rewarded however, with an amazing view of the loch and a great ride back, with minimal effort required
