Langside

Built a century ago, Langside is a stone cottage sitting in Kingussie within Cairngorms National Park. The whole property is yours for the stay, sleeping four across two double bedrooms. A bathroom with both bath and shower cubicle, separate toilet upstairs, and ground-floor living space make it straightforward for families or friends sharing. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, with a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer among its appliances. Heating, electricity, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are all covered.

From the cottage, mountain walks begin almost at your feet. The enclosed garden and terrace look towards the hills; the terrace itself involves 30 steps down with sloping banks, worth knowing if anyone has mobility concerns. There is parking for two cars on site. One dog can stay free of charge. The cottage sits within a few miles of Cairngorm Funicular Railway, the ski area, Highland Wildlife Park and Rothiemurchus Highland Estate. A shop and restaurant are 300 yards away. Smoking is not permitted inside.
